Sigma Nu Slam
Dear Sigma Nu Family,
The Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Sigma Nu at the University of Florida, is proud to announce its campus-wide Tennis Tournament to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Since 1962, St. Jude has depended on partners from around the nation to fund life-saving research projects dedicated to developing cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude treats thousands of children each year from all 50 states and 70 countries and is supported primarily through public contributions. Its patients are treated regardless of their ability to pay or if they have insurance.
In 1962, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, was 4 percent. Today, the survival rate is 94 percent, thanks to research and treatment protocols developed at St. Jude. In January 2010, St. Jude was ranked the most trusted charity in the nation in a public survey conducted by Harris Interactive, a highly respected international polling and research firm. With a daily operating cost of $1.5 million, St. Jude greatly needs your support!
